Office Visits - and Types of Visits:

Health Maintenance Evaluations/Visits:
Including "Well Childs Check-ups", Sports/Camp
Physicals, etc.
By Appointment Only - No walk-ins.
Call (828) 328-1118
during routine office visit hours .
We recommend that you always have a well
check scheduled: - Preferably, as you leave
one well checkup, make an appointment for the
next - maximizing the possibility of securing an appointment for a
checkup at your preferred date/time with a clinician of your choice.
- As you leave a "sick visit" re-verify your well-child check-up
appointment, or if none exists, them make one. . - We recommend
that these health maintenance visits be made for the
summer months for all visits over 2 years, a time which will be "quieter"
and easier to schedule, and easier to avoid missing school/work.
These are very important components to maintain the health and
well-being of your child - promoting preventative care/screening.
- We follow the recommended
schedule
of the American Academy of
Pediatrics, the
NIH, CDC,
AAFP,
health care insurers, and
Medicaid. -
These are
mandatory for patients of Unifour Pediatrics,
not optional. -
If you choose not participate in well check-ups, then we recommend
that seek care elsewhere. We cannot participate in substandard care.
- Health maintenance examinations
include a detailed and age-specific questions
and anticipatory guidance, a detailed physical examinations,
age-specific laboratory, sensory, developmental, and other testing, etc.
- Standard immunizations are
also usually given at these visits. - We will provide you
detailed written "handouts" that summarize the key
points of each visits and provide additional helpful information.
- Parents of newborn infants are provided a
750 page AAP birth-5 years
childcare manual, which we strongly
urge parents to keep at bedside, "wear out", and
use it to keep your child healthy, and to help prevent
unnecessary office visits here at Unifour Pediatrics. - We
also refer back to this and
other specified
web-sites which links to a vast amount of
health care information - helps prevent office visits.
For excellent information about
preventative healthcare, health maintenance, child
development, safety, time/day specific information on
